POGO BUZZ.......

“I really like Pogo Boards! It’s very easy to use. I find that it’s much faster and more user-friendly than other communication board programs, especially since everything is in one spot. I love the randomize option for the boards! The materials that I’m able to create with Pogo Boards allow everyone in my classroom to participate!”

--- Jodi Ketterer, Speech/Language Pathologist, School District of Marshfield (Marshfield, WI)

“For years, Assistive Technology Services in the Clark County School District purchased licenses and discs for picture-generating software. We experimented with numerous clip art programs and several special education software titles. We opted to use a specific special education software and bought nearly 1,000 licenses to distribute to over 300 schools. Unfortunately, with the amount of instructor turnover, challenges with sharing the software CD, and break and loss issues, over the course of 5 years, approximately 75% of the CDs could not be located.

“Three years ago, we knew that it was time to find an online option for picture generation. After thorough investigation and meetings with several vendors, we trialed several products. It was determined that Pogo Boards was the most cost-efficient and user-friendly product to meet our needs. We’ve been using Pogo Boards for over 2 years in the Clark County School District and have had great success. On top of the huge cost savings we’ve experienced, we find Customer Support to be exceptional. When serving the needs of thousands of students, parents and IEP Teams, it is imperative to work with vendors who not only provide a quality product, but will field our phone calls with knowledge, courtesy and patience.”

--- Sue Lucia-Terry, Coordinator, Assistive Technology Services, Clark County School District (Las Vegas, NV)

“Pogo Boards allows me the opportunity to create my own customized materials. It is easy to start from scratch … and it’s very simple to save and edit my materials as needed.”

--- Sheila Morgan, Behavior Specialist, Seguin Independent School District (Seguin, TX)

Pogo Boards has been an excellent resource, especially for teachers of students with special needs. As a trainer who has provided instruction for the Clark County School District in the area of Assistive Technology Services, Pogo Boards has been invaluable. I have found Pogo Boards to be a user-friendly format that allows the user to create communication boards, visual schedules, bingo boards, overlays for various assistive technology devices, and instructional materials.

“Within Pogo Boards, there are archived materials that users can search through and find pre-made materials already in use in the classroom. Another benefit is the ability to search for online images. It is possible to create an infinite number of pictures to provide students the motivation to initiate communication. Teachers particularly like the instant access to their boards, wherever they are and sharing those materials with others.”

--- Valerie Johnson, Project Facilitator, Assistive Technology Services, Clark County School District (Las Vegas, NV)

“I teach in an English Language Learner classroom and I use Pogo Boards for my word walls. I think it’s great that I can look up images and create word walls for the students to use. I use Pogo Boards to introduce vocabulary to my students and we always refer back to it every day. I use the speak mode for this. I can touch the word on my ActivBoard and it tells the student what the word is. I am very happy with Pogo Boards and I wouldn’t change a thing!”

--- Daniel Bemiss, English as Second Language Teacher, Warren County Public Schools (Bowling Green, KY)

“Finally! A clinical resource that truly improves quality of care while making a clinician’s professional life easier. It’s flexible, very user-friendly and inexpensive. It’s a wonderful tool for use with large populations of children and adults, from those with articulation difficulties to those with apraxia, head injury or autism.

--- Ken Bleile, Ph.D. Speech Language Pathologist, University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls, IA)

“I really like Pogo Boards! I’ve been using it for several years. I like that I can use it across platforms and I don’t need to have a disc in my drive for it to work. There is a great array of icons, pictures and symbols available to use. I can always find something that will work for whatever I am creating. It is easy to find previously made boards and to share boards with other people. Adding new icons, pictures and symbols is easy! It has always been very easy to get templates made! Pogo Boards also has a great price point!

--- Irene Hughes, Learning Specialist, Gaffney Lane Elementary School (Oregon City, OR)
